Pistols: | Loaded with 5 rounds each, holstered with hammer down on an empty chamber. |
Rifle: | Loaded with 10 rounds, staged on Table 1 with action closed on an empty chamber and hammer down. |
Shotgun: | Open and empty, staged on Table 1 with 4+ rounds on person. |
Start: | Shooter is standing behind Table 2, with hands on pistol or pistols. |
Shooter signifies ready by saying the line: “Thanks for John Wayne Movies!” | |
Pistols: | At the beep, draw pistols in accordance with your category and engage the pistol targets with a Nevada sweep on the left three pistol targets from either direction and a Nevada sweep on the right three pistol targets from either direction. (Example: P3-P2-P1-P2-P3 and P4-P5-P6-P5-P4.) Holster empty pistols and move to Table 1. |
Rifle: | Retrieve the rifle and engage the rifle targets with a Nevada sweep on the left three rifle targets from either direction and a Nevada sweep on the right three rifle targets from either direction. (Example: R3-R2-R1-R2-R3 and R4-R5-R6-R5-R4.) Place open and empty rifle on Table 1. |
Shotgun: | Retrieve the shotgun and knock down the shotgun targets from front to back (S1, S2, S4, S3). |
Retrieve shotgun and rifle and proceed to the unloading table. |
STAGE 3 –
Rifle: | Loaded with 10 rounds, staged on Table 1 with action closed on an empty chamber and hammer down. |
Shotgun: | Open and empty, staged on Table 1 with 4+ rounds on person. |
Pistols: | Loaded with 5 rounds each, holstered with hammer down on an empty chamber. |
Start: | Shooter is standing behind Table 1 with hands poised over rifle or shotgun. |
Shooter signifies ready by saying the line: “Thanks for Cowboy Action Shooting!” At the beep, shooter may start with either rifle or shotgun. | |
Rifle: | Retrieve the rifle and engage the rifle targets with a sweep of all six rifle targets from either direction then a sweep of the four middle targets from either direction. (Example: R1-R2-R3-R4-R5-R6, R5-R4-R3-R2.) Place open and empty rifle on Table 1. |
Shotgun: | Retrieve the shotgun and knock down the shotgun targets in any order. You may replace the open and empty shotgun on Table 1 or carry it to Table 2. Move to Table 2. |
Pistols: | Draw pistols in accordance with your category and engage the pistol targets with a sweep of all six pistol targets from either direction then a sweep of the four middle targets from either direction. (Example: P1-P2-P3-P4-P5-P6, P5-P4-P3-P2.) Holster empty pistols. |
Retrieve shotgun and rifle and proceed to the unloading table. |
Stage 4
Pistols: | Loaded with 5 rounds each, holstered with hammer down on an empty chamber. |
Rifle: | Loaded with 10 rounds, staged on Table 1 with action closed on an empty chamber and hammer down. |
Shotgun: | Open and empty, staged on Table 1 with 4+ rounds on person. |
Start: | Shooter is standing behind Table 2 with hands relaxed at sides. |
Shooter signifies ready by saying the line: “Thanks for good friends!” | |
Pistols: | At the beep, draw pistols in accordance with your category and engage the pistol targets with a Lawrence Welk sweep across the middle four targets from either direction. (Example: P2, P3-P3, P4-P4-P4, P5-P5-P5-P5.) Holster empty pistols and move to Table 1. |
Rifle: | Retrieve the rifle and engage the rifle targets with a Lawrence Welk sweep across the middle four targets from either direction. (Example: R2, R3-R3, R4-R4-R4, R5-R5-R5-R5.) Place open and empty rifle on Table 1. |
Shotgun: | Retrieve the shotgun and knock down the shotgun targets from right to left (S4, S1, S3, S2). |
Take open & empty shotgun, retrieve rifle and proceed to the unloading table. |
STAGE 5 –
Pistols: | Loaded with 5 rounds each, holstered with hammer down on an empty chamber. |
Rifle: | Loaded with 10 rounds, staged on Table 1 with action closed on an empty chamber and hammer down. |
Shotgun: | Open and empty, staged on Table 1 or Table 2 with 4+ rounds on person. |
Start: | Shooter is standing behind Table 1 or Table 2 with fingers gripping hat brim. Starting position and gun order is shooter’s choice, except that rifle cannot be last. |
Shooter signifies ready by saying the line: “Thanks for family!” | |
Pistols: | Draw pistols in accordance with your category and engage the pistol targets with a 2-1-2 sweep across the left three targets from either direction and a 2-1-2 sweep across the right three targets from either direction. (Example: P1-P1, P2, P3-P3 and P4-P4, P5, P6-P6.) Holster empty pistols. |
Rifle: | Retrieve the rifle and engage the rifle targets with a 2-1-2 sweep across the left three targets from either direction and a 2-1-2 sweep across the right three targets from either direction. (Example: R1-R1, R2, R3-R3 and R4-R4, R5, R6-R6.) Place open and empty rifle on Table 1. |
Shotgun: | Retrieve the shotgun and knock down the shotgun targets in any order. You may replace the open and empty shotgun on Table 1 or carry it to Table 2. |
Retrieve shotgun and rifle and proceed to the unloading table. |
STAGE 6 –
Pistols: | Loaded with 5 rounds each, holstered with hammer down on an empty chamber. |
Rifle: | Loaded with 10 rounds, staged on Table 1 with action closed on an empty chamber and hammer down. |
Shotgun: | Open and empty, staged on Table 1 or Table 2 with 4+ rounds on person. |
Start: | Shooter is standing behind Table 1 or Table 2 with hands at low surrender. Starting position and gun order is shooter’s choice, except that rifle cannot be last. |
Shooter signifies ready by saying the line: “Have a Happy Thanksgiving!” | |
Pistols: | Draw pistols in accordance with your category and engage the pistol targets by alternating 5 shots between any two targets from either direction then alternating 5 shots between any other two targets from either direction. Holster empty pistols. |
Rifle: | Retrieve the rifle and engage the rifle targets by alternating 5 shots between any two targets from either direction then alternating 5 shots between any other two targets from either direction. Place open and empty rifle on Table 1 |
Shotgun: | Retrieve the shotgun and knock down the shotgun targets in a clockwise direction, starting on any target. (Example: S1, S2, S3, S4.) You may replace the open and empty shotgun on Table 1 or carry it to Table 2. |
